Make Your Own Zero-Waste Make-Up Remover Pads

Written by Beauty, DIY

We live in a throw away society. Make-up remover pads are a staple in most of our lives and are a perfect example of a product that we have always used and never questioned. What if we told you that you can make your own make-up remover pads and will never need to purchase them again? Seems like a simple idea. But it’s our belief that any change, no matter how small, contributes to the greater good.

These crochet pads also act as great exfoliators for the skin. Use in combination with your favourite make up remover; ours is pure coconut oil. Make at least seven pads (one for each day of the week) and store them in your bathroom cabinet with an empty jar for used pads. On laundry day, put the used pads in a delicates bag and throw in the wash. Simple.

Creating these remover pads is as simple as crocheting a small round. If you are new to crocheting, check out the easy to follow video below. Better yet, ask your grandma. Happy crocheting, planet savers!
